For over 60 years XTRATUF® has been equipping commercial fishermen with Alaska proven footwear and boots. As fishing has evolved over the years so have the fishermen’s needs, therefore we continue to innovate and solve for how our boots can help our users stay safe, feel confident, and remain comfortable. Our iconic Legacy boot has been around since the late 50’s and our users are now wearing them in more environments and for more reasons than ever before. These new demands warrant innovation and so we integrated modern technologies and design features into the classic and well proven style. The Legacy Altitude is an all-terrain version of our classic Legacy boot. Built on a new outsole with multi-traction lugs designed for all terrain adventures while still maintaining SRA slip resistant when you find yourself back on wet and slippery decks. The outsole lugs are specifically designed to flex and shed debris as you move. 100% waterproof and constructed with our signature triple dipping technique, which creates a seamless and flexible barrier that is highly resistant to many organic and inorganic acids, chemicals, and contaminants The Altitude also features additional shin, ankle, and heel reinforcement to provide enhanced protection and durability.

  • 100% Waterproof
  • Oil/Acid/Chemical Resistant Triple dipped latex neoprene rubber
  • Open cell foam insert for all day comfort
  • SRA Slip resistant lugged traction outsole
  • Lug traction multi surface terrain

Size Up!!

I had to exchange for a size up, but so far they fit great, the calf size is very generous compared to all my previous Legacy boots, wished they all fit liked my made in the USA Legacy. Time will tell if they still feel good after this summer in Valdez.

Finally

Great boots! They run small so I had to get a larger size for them to fit well. Very comfortable. My new favorite boot!

Good trail boot

A little snug out of the box but loosens a bit after a few long walks. Feels comfortable walking on wet/muddy trails and through thick brush. Would buy again.

Great idea. Terrible updates.

I have had many pairs of xtratufs. And currently own 6 pairs. Insulated, normal, fashion, work boots, etc. I end up hiking in my xtratufs all the time and while they have the best grip on wet wood of any hiking boot they are terrible side hilling.
These boots have a really good sole, good traction in the mud and on edge. They are uncomfortably tight around the instep but that helps with grip. It also makes them colder. The price to pay for traction. But all those changes are useful but the next change is a deal breaker. The calf diameter has been increased over an inch compared to either my regular legacy boots or my insulated legacy boots. An inch increase means these boots are incredibly sloppy and they thwack against your calf and sound like walking around in flip flops. These boots fill up with sticks and leaves and water while hiking.
Not sure why they would increase the calf size so much. Other xtratufs fit perfect and for large calf people they should offer the gussetted. I would return them if I could.

The perfect boot?

The perfect boot? Pretty close for sure! Great fit and the sole is incredible: grippy on rocks, logs, wet boat deck, etc. Snug and my feet, not too loose like most boots. I liked them so much I convinced a friend to buy the same boot and he loves them too.

ALASKA PROVEN.
BUILT FOR ALL.
